JOURNAL OF GLOBAL COMPETITIVENESS

Guidelines for papers to be included in the Journal of Global Competitiveness.

In order for any paper to be included in the Journal of Global Competitiveness, the paper must meet the following:

I.          TYPING

All papers must be typed, single-spaced, on regular 8.5" x 11" paper.  The left and right margins must be 1.5", the top and bottom margins must be 1", and the font should be Times New Roman, 12 point.

II.        FIRST PAGE

The title of the paper, not to exceed two lines, should be in 12 point, BOLD, left aligned, initial cap for each word (Title case), and should be consistent with the margin requirement in part 1.  Please note that for the first page only, the title should begin on the tenth line from the top margin.

The names of the author(s) should be placed in italics, under the title (1 line space) without affiliations and should not include position titles. Use a new line for each author. Insert a full horizontal line two line spaces below the names of the last author.

III.       EXECUTIVE SUMMARY

The executive summary has to appear two line spaces below the horizontal line after the author’s names, indented 0.5” from the left and right margins. It should be italicized in 12 pt. font, Times New Roman. It should not to exceed 100 words and should be a review of the paper and not a repetition of the conclusion.

The heading ‘EXECUTIVE SUMMARY’ should be centered, capitalized and bolded.

IV.       HEADINGS

All headings should be bold, centered and capitalized.  Please skip two (2) line spaces above and below.

IVa.     SUB-HEADINGS

Sub-headings should be bold, centered and use an initial capital for each word (Title case). Leave one line space above and below each sub-heading.

V.        PARAGRAPHS

Indent new paragraphs one horizontal space, except after headings or sub-headings when text begins flush left.  Leave 1 line space above and below paragraphs.

VI.       TABLES AND CHARTS

Figures and tables should be placed as close as possible to the location in the text where they are first cited.  Their identification labels should be centered, typed in all caps, and appear above the table or figure as follows:

TABLE I (OR) FIGURE 1

All figures and tables must be photo-reproducible.  Symbols or parts of a figure that cannot be typed should be drawn carefully using black ink.

VII.     REFERENCES AND BIBLIOGRAPHIES

The style guidelines for references and bibliographies must follow the publications manual of the American Psychological Association.  Titles of journals or books will be italicized instead of underlined. There should be no blank lines between consecutive references. PLEASE NOTE: Reference styles must be observed; otherwise the paper will not be included. Below are examples.
